About Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

SSC conducts recruitment exams such as CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable and Stenographer. Some recent SSC notifications ask for a live photo taken through the SSC website or app instead of an upload, so check which one your notification wants.

Tips so your signature isn’t rejected

• Sign with a black or dark-blue pen on plain white paper.
• Photograph it in good light, then turn on “Clean signature background” to remove grey shadows.
• Crop close to the signature, leaving only a small white border.
• Don’t sign in CAPITAL letters. Many forms reject that.
• Use the same signature you will sign at the exam centre.

How to resize a photo or signature for an online form

1. Pick your form from the list. The required size in pixels/cm and KB is filled in automatically. If your form isn’t listed, choose Custom size and type the numbers from the notification.
2. Upload your photo or scanned signature. A phone camera photo works fine.
3. Drag and zoom so your face (or signature) sits nicely in the frame.
4. Download. The tool compresses the image so it lands inside the allowed KB range, and sets the correct DPI.
